Just Because:

Just Because:
I am a little sad that I am missing the Glee tour this summer. This of course led to feeling a little pathetic as I am in my thirties. This...again turned into a little sadness. This...was nothing a little Chord Overstreet cannot fix!

Just Because: Zach Porter

This morning in line for coffee I spotted Zach Porter singing on the flat screen above the wall menu. Zach, with band mates from AllStar Weekend were singing on Regis & Kelly. When I got home tonight I had to a search... Now, I just hope the music is as appealing!

Below Zach with Cameron Quiseng.

Just Because: Black Eyed Peas

There was a time I liked the The Black Eyed Peas but lately they are losing favor quickly. It is not just that there is something creepy about the group (that was always there) but it seems they do not quite understand the notion of 'leaving them wanting more'. The Black Eyed Peas show up EVERYWHERE, anytime, all the time. Singing (sometimes not even close to on tune) on every award show, event, talk show or gas station opening that invites them. It is not that they can go unnoticed, their brand of performing is never subtle and always loud. Might be nice if every once in awhile they chose not to RSVP...

Just Because: Chalk Children

Just Because:

The Chalk Children story was some of the most original, creative, hilarious (and frighteningly realistic) writing I have seen on a sit com in years!

Beware the chalk children!

Just Because: The Rapture:

Just Because:

I am not sure if today's Rapture was time zone specfic, but... since it is way after six in many parts of the world (including my beloved Australia), just hoping all my mates are doing ok! (And any excuse to post Aussie lifeguard shots!).

Just Because: Jeff Probst

Sadly, there are some celebrities who at one time or another start to believe their own hype and publicity (Oprah anyone...). It is at that time that retiring or moving on might be the best option. I only watched a bit of this seasons Survivor. Partly because I have watched Rob and Russell before and don't generally watch re-runs. The other reason is a general annoyance with host Jeff Probst.

Jeff is certainly hot and a very a likable guy. He has also become far to full of himself. His fawning over Russell and other former Survivor's, and his attempts to be Dr. Phil (one is more than enough) at tribal councils is making the show almost unwatchable. When investing in any tv show I like to root for whom I want to and don't need the host telling me who is worthy and who is not. Jeff needs to take a page from Phil Keoghan and skillfully guide us through the journey instead of trying to tell us how to experience it. He has been on the show far too long and unless he can take a step back really should be moving on.

Just Because: 13 Shows Left

The hype over the end of the Oprah Winfrey show going off the air is a bit over the top for me. It is a tv show, a historic one yes, a long running one indeed but you would think by the commercials and Oprah herself that cures for every world disease were found and that war was ending forever. Given she also began a network, as this 'end' takes place we are seeing more Oprah than ever before.

Today though there was a show worthy of the hype. With all the filler's of late it was nice to hear Chaz Bono discuss her transition, her mother's reaction, her pain. Chaz clearly and honestly shared her story. I wish there were more stories and less self promotion. Yes Oprah we know you have a new channel. It would be nice to be able to praise Oprah and her accomplishments but sadly she has already said it all herself. I have to question how groundbreaking something can really be if it is self labeled so.

Just Because: Brothers & Sisters:

No...this is not a post about the impending end of a favorite Sunday night drama. I am not a royal follower but I am enjoying all of the attention Kate Middleton's siblings have gotten the past week. Sister Pippa stole the show in her body hugging dress and brother James has more butt shots on the internet than Robbie Williams!

Thanks to whomever the Chocolate Princess is!

And...not real but pretty fun. Harry's double is adorable!

Thanks to CBEntr for the James Shots.

Just Because:

The Apple doesn't fall far....

Don't know whether this was horrid, hilarious or genuis. Time will tell...

Just Because: Bill Cosby

When I was a kid, everyone was watching The Cosby Show but I never got it. I mean I saw it's good points but I just never found it funny. Even at 10 I preferred Cheers. But... years later when I was 18 or 19 I saw Bill Cosby live. I had not laughed that hard ever before in my life. 'the dentist' sketch still brings a laugh. So did this clip! Go Bill!

Thanks to OneAngryQueer for the tip!

Just Becase: Winning? Not exactly....

'Charlie Sheen was heckled, booed and eventually abandoned by the crowd at his inaugural stage show, with many of the audience members chanting "refund" and heading for the exits even before the show abruptly ended.'

Full Story:

I am not exactly happy Sheen's first night was a mini disaster but I do think ultimately losing, not winning might be his best chance at turning his life around.

Just Because this amazing new shot(by Christian Rios) of Chord is everywhere today.

Just Because: Jacqueline Bisset

Just Because:

Just Because:
Although I am working on some great posts for the week, I got home dead tired tonight so decided it was a good day for a 'repeat!'. Last week I saw a commerical for Avon featuring the incredibly beautiful Jacqueline Bisset. Jacqueline is promoting a line of make-up for women over 60. I thought back to the series I did on Jacqueline and the men her movies introduced me to over the years. Hope the post below is new to some!

Just Because: Gays Against Gaga

'Sometimes it is difficult to find words to make a critique when we find ourselves attracted by some aspect of a performer’s act and disturbed by others, or when a performer shows more interest in promoting progressive social causes than is customary. We may see that performer as above critique. Or we may feel our critique will in no way intervene on the worship of them as a cultural icon. To say nothing, however, is to be complicit…'
Gays against Gaga

Not sure how I feel about this site GAG, but when someone posted the link on Facebook yesterday I was intrigued. I enjoy Gaga (don't LOVE her, do enjoy her and see her talent) but... there have been times the confusion in her message has bugged the shit out me (that meat dress and gay marriage link is still suspect...).

I felt the same way about Madonna, both she and Gaga are seen by many as CHAMPIONS of gay causes but don't you, just every once in awhile, question whether they and their marketing machine, saw us the best way to make tons of money (we due spend a lot and are very loyal!).

Don't throw rotten tomato's, I am still on the fence but, just because...it is interesting.

Just Because: Carter Jenkins

19 year old Carter Jenkins has been working in television and movies since 2003. Although I remember him briefly for his role in Surface, it was not until watching Valentines Day that I took notice. Although Valentines Day boasted a huge cast, he was a stand out in just a few scenes.

Just Because: Chord Overstreet

When I got home late last night I contemplated just heading straight to bed. But...I knew I had Glee on the DVR and although I was not exactly looking forward to a Justin Bieber themed episode (no matter how much the producers said otherwise) I decided a little Glee after the long day I had would be a nice way to end it.

Well the episode was not exactly one the shows best but... It did accomplish two things. Firstly although I always thought Chord Overstreet was a cutie (especially in all the shirtless scenes the show puts him in), last night he moved to an official crush. (Still not up there with Harry, but close). His lack of dancing abilities made his performances all that more adorable.

Secondly, and most thanks to Chord, I actually for the first time ever sort of enjoyed a Justin Bieber song. Again, Chords moves sold it. Frightening however is that there is something to that Bieber hair cut craze... all the Glee guys actually look good in their Bieber dos....

On the downside, the episodes writing was only so so with Sue's storyline being not only a yawn fest but with that Sue & Will visiting the sick children scene yet again repeated the Sue gets a heart scene they continue to shove down our throat week after week. Sue getting a heart scenes are about on par with the coyote getting squished with a boulder pushed from the road runner...Means nothing.

I also am not a fan of the character of Lauren in a lead role. I think she makes a great supporting school player, much like Principal Figgins and Jacob. As a lead, the actress and the character are quickly getting annoying. Also, if Glee continues to make any actor who makes a splash a regular I would expect Tina, Artie, Mike and maybe even Mercedes to join Matt at whatever school he transferred.

Above: No Chord in the shot above, but Damn....Harry looks hot!!!

Just Because: Michael Stokes

Above:
Anthony USA by Michael Stokes

Last summer one of my favorite posts to put together was a profile of photographer Michael's Stokes work with model Jason Taulb (See that post below). Not only were the shots incredible (especially the highly creative television series) most fascinating was Michael's sharing of his journey from flight attendant to photographer. I went back to Michael's site this week and was blown away with the body of work he has put together over the past several months. Michael's shots are like great paintings, works of art blending model with wondrous location. Don't miss his most recent shoots with Vince Ramos and FH Favorite Jamie Dominic.
