Rio Fashion 2011

Hi guys,
A catch up of the Rio Fashion, Autumn Winter collections for 2011. It happened last week in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It was held from the 11 to 15 Jan and as usual I have a made a little compilation from some of my favourites looks.

AQUASTUDIO
It's party time for the Aquastudio collection, a lot of sequins and lurex were present this collection inspired by shapes and architecture.

ALESSA
The colourful prints were inspired by sweets in the sweet shops. Funky T-shirts with muffin print for example get mixed with sequined trousers or jackets and even with faux fur.

TECA

Always using pastel colours and feminine prints on their collection. This time around inspired by Japan, so soft flowers and beautiful Japanese inspired prints were used. The colour of the season, camel. The South hemisphere seems to be following the same trend as us this winter.

Detail of the DIY jewellery. Broken pieces of china combined with crystals were used as necklaces.

PATACHOU
A beautifully made collection in grey, black and white. I love the embelishments used here, a lot of beads, net, transparency and draping on this collection, which is right up my street. Ohhh and the shoes are amazing, I would love to have a pair too.

MARIA BONITA EXTRA

Another beautifully made and feminine collection, a mixture of silk camisoles and harem silk suits which are beautiful. Another favourite look of mine is the sequined short in nude, they which is gorgeous. I love the fact this collection is very neutral with a colourful twist on accessories, such as those great ballerina shoes.

BRITISH COLONY
A lovely and creative collection with much inspiration from Navajo/Aztec prints, which you guys know I am so into to. I really like the styled cowboy boots mixed with it, very cool.

MELK Z KA
Channeling Maison Martin Margiela big time, it's time for wig jacket on the Brazilian catwalks.

CANTAO:
A youthful collection with beautiful maxi dresses, some hand printed fabrics with a pinch of grunge and Missoni.

I hope you enjoyed!

See you soon.
