More than likely if I were to take it to the Apple store I'd have restored by then...which hopefully would alleviate the problem at that point.
My main point is, if I have no recourse in my current jailbroken state, what options are the best to restore yet not have to upgrade my firmware (aka losing the chance to jailbreak untethered)

Try resetting the PRAM
1. Shut down the computer.
2. Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
3. Turn on the computer.
4. Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
5. Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
6. Release the keys.
On a side note. You should never install a developer preview as your primary OS.
thank you soo much dude!!
oh, will this erase anything?
and do u no how i can get snow leopard back?

yes, this would normally be the problem. BUT as I stated. All of my accounts are on the same server. About ten accounts and ONLY two of them. And this does NOT happen on my G5 only on my PowerMac. Therefore I am sure it's NOT the server.
thanks.

If you're sure it's not the server, then have you tried (after backing everything up) to go through the ordinary checklist, before it comes to deleting prefs (which I fear you must do): Fixing permissions, rebuilding mailboxes etc.?
As I understand you it's the same two that keeps making trouble...? What do you mean when you say all accounts are on the same server, is it 10 differnet accounts on one domain, or different domains all hosted on the same (physical) server...?
thanks.

It's weird, My MacBook Pro now wont boot into OS X lion, before the login screen it shows the mouse for a second and now it sticks at blue. :o
=====-----=====
From http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1564
(Mac OS X: What is Safe Boot, Safe Mode?)
"Mac OS X v10.5.6 or later: A Safe Boot deletes the dynamic loader shared cache at (/var/db/dyld/). A cache with issues may cause a blue screen on startup, particularly after a Software Update. Restarting normally recreates this cache."
=====-----=====
From http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1455
(Mac OS X: Starting up in Safe Mode)
"To start up into Safe Mode (to Safe Boot), do this:
1. Be sure your Mac is shut down.
2. Press the power button.
3. Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
4. Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear)."

I agree a PM is more suitable and reckon I'll buy one within 12 months but as a cheaper alternative the Mini makes a great stop-gap.
You don't have to go straight from a mini to a PM. What about an iMac if you need more power? :)

Man, just go buy one. The hardware was just updated and they are terrific machines. Installing Lion will take about 30 mins in typical Apple fashion. You'll love it.

Anyone know how many tee shirts they'll be giving out?
They had 500 t-shirts. I got there at 7:15 and I was # 504. No T for me.:(

so, since you own it how do you feel about it? What was the last mouse you used and how does it compare? What is your honest opinion about its battery life and tracking ability? What mouse pad are you using if its something other than your normal average joe mousepad. I was thinking about getting this mousepad (http://www.thinkgeek.com/computing/accessories/6adc/) if it'll make a difference. Just lemme know...

This happens to me too, it doesn't freeze or crash, but the video and audio won't play because they're designed for WMP 10.

i'm not hosting the stuff myself, so I'm going to go with the .htaccess file route.
Thanks for all the help - this is great :D
It works great, and the standard permissions are 644, so that wasn't an issue. Now I need to set up an error page - what error number is that?

Depends on what you mean by "handle." It shouldn't be that hard to accept that in 2 years the video demands from gaming will probably be much greater than today.

Is there a college near by? Check to see if they offer any web classes and walk in there one day and say you are just there for the trial version of 30 days. They will understand. On day 28.5, take a copy of dreamweaver from one of their putes.
It should work.

Someone is living in a crevice for the past decade. :rolleyes:Sorry, but even the head of cyclone/hurricane research for the World Meteorological Organization says that it is premature to link "global warming" (see: theory of) to increased hurricane activity this year (http://www.breitbart.com/news/2005/09/23/MTFH02074_2005-09-23_11-27-45_SCH341095.html).

Lance has said he'll retire or has even retired before I think, but coming out of retirement 'just to p*ss them off' is a bit lame.
Well, I don't think he'd go to that much trouble just to taunt the French media...If he does race I think the reason will be because that's what he does, and he doesn't want to stop.
Although, maybe it would be better for him to start competing in other Tours like the Giro d'Italia - he's already put his stamp firmly on the Tour de France.
PS. Don't diss MJ - you run a good chance of being struck down.... ;)
LOL, I never was much of a basketball fan but it was sad to see such a legend fade away like he did - it was just too hard to let go.

Thanks for all the answers and discussion. I'm a bit disappointed about losing the unlock upon a reboot. On another note, will OS 4.3.2 be un-lockable using the Gevey?
