You would need to jailbreak and use iBluetooth and iBlueNova for bluetooth file transfer, other than that your only other option at the moment is to email the images to yourself and save them to your touch through the mail app.

How many times did you try the jb and what were you using? Pwnage or greenpoison? Just because the jb fails once doesn't mean that it was a disaster. Try the jb again.

Tried it with Greenpois0n and it failed so I tried it with Redsnow and it worked. It's tethered, but thats no big deal as I rarely ever turn it off. But now what do I do with the host file? I deleted what I added and now it looks like this. Is this correct?

What is your budget? What do you expect to do with the camera? What lighting conditions? Will you be recording audio using the camera or an external device? What mics do you have/plan to get? How will it be supported? What do you plan to edit with? What is your final output?

Budget - I would like to keep it under $800

Lighting conditions - should be very good as I will normally be shooting in daylight and clear weather.

Mics - I don't have any but will get whatever is required. I was going to add most of the audio after the fact for clarity's sake.

Edit - Not sure. Whatever is most friendly and easy to work with.

Output - This will be video content for my website.

Basically...I am a contractor that wants to post of some video of completed jobs with some audio about what we do and why.

Eager to hear some first hand reviews of the new Kinect. I'm still on the fence.

The games that are out for kinect are nothing really to write home about. joy ride was a blast, Kinect Adventures was ok. but those was the only two i played. but other then that the kinect responded very well, it didn't have a issue detecting motion nor detecting voice. two player works just as good as single player. my friend said his daughter loved the dancing game and it did just as well in that game.

its slow at first due to the lack of some better games, and people are looking at it like the 32x or sega CD and have mixed feelings about it. I think that will change in due time, look at some of the upcoming kinect enabled games.

I have used Crucial in all my MacBook Pros and have never had a problem. If cost is a issue OWC usually has great deals on their ram and seems to have a great warranty to back it up and will let you trade in old ram to knock the price down even further.

i think the biggest hurdle to leap over to run panther, are the graphic card limitations of the older machines. stuff like the cube user switching and expose are going to be cpu and graphic card intensive. do you think those older machines would be able to handle those?

Haven't had experience with either kb; I heard mechanical keys are better for typing. Still, if you are looking for a nice keyboard, you could try the Kensington Slimtype. It's nice, and doesn't cost a lot.

Sorry for the short post; don't know what else I could say.

thanks for your reply. I heard that the kensington slimtype is similar to the icekey in the sense they are both scissors switch keys. However I cannot seem to find one in the uk for sale. :(

As there are no bids on it at the moment I'd like to make an offer of $300 shipped to the UK.

    Thanks.
    Jake.

Thanks for the offer but its only been up for a few hours :)

I paid more then that so I can't really sell a new phone thats in high demand at a loss. You're welcome to try on ebay and see if you are the winning bid and I'd be happy to throw in UK shipping free.

Actually there is a malloc, it's embedded in the memcpy.

My mistake. But the underlying problem is the same: the address of returnElement is on the stack. The address of the memory the at malloced in the call to memcpy is "lost" as it is never saved into a variable. So that malloced memory is leaked.

But, if I understand you correctly, the act of copying from the heap to the stack has the same effect of free()?

No. Absolutely 100% not. You have allocated space on the heap with the malloc. The malloc returned the address for you to free later. You did not save this address so cannot call free but that is OK as memcpy also returns the destination address (so as you can put the memcpy and malloc in one line like you have). But you fail to save the address their, instead dereferencing the pointer and saving that value in a variable. So at this point the malloced space on the heap is leaked. This is a problem. The space you allocated on the stack for the double is fine: it will get cleaned up for you.

The solution is to split this into two lines. You need to have a void * pointer variable that you store the return from memcpy in. You can then dereference and cast the that into returnElement. And finally free the void * pointer returned from memcpy.

Would you rather post on a site that uses vBulletin or phpbb. I know I would prefer vBulletin but would the average user know a difference?

Depends on your definition of average user. I consider myself an "average user" as I post on several different forums and have for years. That gives me a good feel for what I like and what I don't care for. Across the board I prefer vB to phpbb. Strictly as an end user who is pretty well aquatinted with the external workings of a forum (do not apply any of this to it as supporting one or the other).

Your first timers and newbie forum users probably wouldn't really notice the difference.

Mysql is the database language and PHP is the server side programming language that is most commonly used to interface the html form to the database. If you want to learn that just get a book like one of the Visual Quickstart Guides by Larry Ullman for Mysql & PHP. There are many books like this and online tutorials as well. Be prepared to spend some time on this if that's the direction your headed.

You should also get a local server set up on your computer. MAMP for Mac or WAMP for Windows. They are free and give you a easy way to develop dynamic web sites without having a hosting account. Later you can move the site to a live web host.

The other option is to use something like Wordpress where you can host for free and use one of the Form plugin's to make your form and store the results without having to know the code to make it happen.

are you 100% sure about this?? just asking cuz there are times where i wanna charge my phone but its like 5 min before i wanna go to bed and dont wanna charge it for 8 hours . and its always rumored that leaving your charger on overnight will hurt the battery. thats the last thing i wanna do on an iphone since the battery is non removable

Yep, basically every Apple product does this.

Thanks, if you don't mind, I do have one last question. I have been trying to figure out if when I turn my phone off all the way, will it charge so I have turned it on and off a few times. Is this in any way bad for my battery or phone? Thanks :D

Confused. Turning the phone off and on again?

I have a Blue/white G3 at home and I need to upgrade, but can't afford to get what I would really like (a G5). I have 21" apple monitor, keyboard and mouse. And, I use all the graphics software: Quark, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc. Does anyone think this the lowest model of the mini macs is a good purchase for a couple of years? I know it will be out of date quicker than some of my other options. But, my monitor is really good, so I think I shouldn't go the emac or imac route. Any suggestions or thoughts out there? I appreciate it.

    Hey guys,

I'm desperate for help here. For the past two days or so, my Dock has been freezing up, and giving me the beachball if I moved my mouse over it, as well as making the enitre system so slow, to the point where it is almost unusable. Expose also stops working. Force quitting everything and relaunching the Finder doesn't help the situation either. The only icons I have on my dock are the Finder, Safari, Adium, Pages, and Maya.

Here's where it gets really weird. Today, I decided to do a clean install of OS X, and I formatted it, and reinstalled it. Yet, the problem is still happening! It doesn't make sense. It tends to happen while Safari and Adium are open, but that isn't saying much becuase those programs are open 24/7 on my system.

So, today it happened (actually, about 15 minutes ago), so I decided to check out the Activity Monitor. Since the dock wasn't working, I opened it through finder, and the dock icon did not appear on the dock. The program opened anyways, though. The Dock was using between 60% and 90% of my CPU, but a normal amount of RAM. Quitting or Force Quitting the dock would remove it from the list for a second, but then it would come back, with the same amount of CPU usage.

I'm completely lost. It's not just 10.3.8 because on my newly formatted system, it hasn't finished downloading yet (it's still downloading other Updates). Once the dock starts acting up, about 30 minutes to an hour into the session, the computer is helpless. Expose stops working, and the computer becomes dead slow. The dock is not functional either, and sometimes disappers entirely, and I have to use the Applications folder in the Finder to switch between programs. Alt + Tab doesn't work either.

Let me clarify a few things. No new RAM has been installed recently, although when I got the system back in September (It's a 1.6GHz iMac G5), l added 512MB on the same day. Only programs installed after the format are:

GMail Status (tried closing, with no help)
WeatherPop (tried closing, with no help)
    Maya 6.5
    iWork
    iLife '04
    Adobe Photoshop CS
    Adium
    VLC
    Limwire Pro
    ByteController

I'm completely stumped as to what could be going on. I'm sorry for the long post, but I didn't want to miss anything.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
