Chic Chanel Advert

Hi guys,

Sharing with you some scanned pictures of this posh advertisement from Chanel. Maybe I should have taken a picture of it, so you would be able to see it better... Anyways, it's looks like a little book, on a black, glossy sturdy card. On the front (picture below) is the beautiful bottle of Chanel 5, made up of strings of golden sequins. Very bling, with a great feel to it. Yeah, it's funny but I just love to run my fingers through it, like a harp!

On the inside a glamorous picture of the famous Chanel 5 and on the back the star is Audrey Tautou, looking effortlessly chic.

Anyways, I am not here just to comment about the perfume and the pictures... My real interest on this advert, is how I could DIY it on a T-shirt! Just another idea I had the other day. I could very carefully cut out the sequins from the front page and then glue or stitch them on a T-shirt. Straightway, I would have something new and original. Maybe I could even say that is a Potion 9, Wildfox inspiration, couldn't I?

See you soon.

Cool ideas with hair pins!

Hi guys,

A quick DIY idea here!

If you like me, have thousands and thousands of hair pins that don't get used that often, this hair pin necklace is a cute, cheap and simple idea. I really like it!

You could also spray the hair pins in different colours if you wish, to create a cool pattern. And if you ever have a bad hair day, using this necklace might just help a little.

Check it out!

Otherwise get inspired by one of my favourite Dior's catwalk hairstyle ever! All the pins straight from the necklace to your head.

Both cool ideas for summer! Anyone inspired too?

See you guys later.

Sleeves & collar = a scarf

Hiya,

Last night browsing on the net I bumped into these cool scarves, which are totally adorable and a very creative idea too.

It's called 'Two sleeves & One collar' and it uses recycled shirts to create this simple yet very playful concept. The recycled shirt has the sleeves and the collar cut off and sewn together, then you can just play with the sleeves as you wish. It's also unisex, a cool unique gift for him maybe? It's a clever idea designed by Artpoint.

I really enjoyed Artpoint's website and I would love to pay a visit to their shop in Vienna. They also sell items in museum shops and cool exhibitions around the globe, so hopefully I'll get the chance to come across it soon!

For the meantime I'll leave you with the inspiration.

DIY jersey scarf

Hello guys,

Some pictures today from my cute DIY scarf which I am really proud of. It's made of jersey and it's quite a versatile piece as it can be worn long or wrapped over a few times around the neck. I normally wear it double wrapped, as a long necklace. In the colder days 3 times over covers my whole neck and protects me from the wind.

It's a simple and cool idea which I love and soon I will make another version of it to go with this one. Worn here with a new top, I have found at the Zara sale for only £4. Utter bargain!

Love my old skirt - Aka my new top!

Hello my lovelies,

Today's post is an outfit with a little story to tell...

Every now and then, I have a huge tidy up on my wardrobe. See, I carefully choose the word 'tidy' and not 'clean'(for much of my boyfriend's despair) because I am a big hoarder.

What a girl to do?

Can't bare to chuck it... you must recycle it!

( My new invented top! An easy and cheerful DIY!)

Anyways, the real story starts about 15 years ago when I bought this sarong style skirt at the Opera Rock in Sao Paulo. I totally adored and loved it back then. I wore it quite few times but I always had a problem with it...a big one. It used to slide off completely, quietly and totally unnoticed and leaving me very exposed as I walked down the road!

Eventually, I gave up on it. Totally abandoned it and left it behind in Brazil ages ago.

( An old picture...The skirt, originally as it was back in 97!)

Oh well, last year when I was back in Brazil....

My mum, also a (organized) hoarder made me try a few bits which were still there...

Of course, I rejected the majority of them (the skirt included) and much to my surprise when opening my suitcase back at home in London, guess what? The skirt and other bits were greeting me as soon as I opened my suitcase, I soon found few sneaky items that somehow had made their way in. Mum? Hummmm!?!?!

What do do? (AGAIN) Let's turn it into a top! I think this is a much nicer and hassle free way to re-invent this garment.

( The skirt has a new life as top in 2009, over ten years on but still rocking!)

I decided to brighten up with some red details on my shoes, bag and necklace.

So what do you think of this recycled DIY top?

Honest opinions, please!

Clockwork works - New DIY necklace!

diy,watch necklace,pretty portobello,clockwork necklace

Hello,

I am so excited about today's post! It's another accessory post but it certainly is a very special one, well for me at least.

My inspiration came from the old pocket watches, a beautiful object, forgotten by most of us.

pocket watches

I also have a funny fascination for cogs, as I find them so cute (and because I love little mini things) it came into my mind how the cute cogs, wheels and springs from the watch would look when exposed.

I knew exactly what I wanted to... I decided to transform this pocket watch in a cool necklace, recycling every single part of it.

Voila!

My newest design: An open watch necklace!

Fingers on Fire - part 1 - DIY a la Balmain !

Hello,

Hey guys, thank you so much to all the new visitors and especially new followers to the blog. Hope you all enjoy it.

So here it is part 1 of my DIY posts... I must say this is just a little teaser of what is about to come, watch this space, I am finalizing my experiments and soon as it's all finished (and hopefully, all good) I will be posting here.

DIY+studs+balmain

DIY+studs+balmain

The inspiration was Balmain...

And this was a quick transformation to the back of the top. The top has elasticated straps and therefore they naturally twisted, I made an adjustment to that and applied the studs onto it.

BEFOREBEFOREAFTERDIY+studs+balmainAFTER

I kept simple on the front, just added a few studs.

I think it turned out quite cute!

What do you guys think? Leave me a comment!
