I've been carefully monitoring the processor loads on my c2d macbook (the black one) to see what kind of processor I would be needing if I buy an air. The decision is really between the 1.86 and 2.13
My loads are:
1.03 .93. 87
These are with chrome and itunes and terminal running along with ical and the likes. nothing too heavy.
Any advice on which processor?

Not terribly much, unfortunately. It's a middling system, not particularly impressive in any spec, with a built-in power-hog CRT. The monitor-less Quadra 605 is a heck of a collectors item; but this is just a monstrosity.
It's not a horrible machine for the time, nor even particularly bad now; it's just fairly common as well as large.
I'd estimate it would be worth, at most, $50. Maybe at some point ridiculously far in the future, if you keep it in absolute pristine condition, fully functional (means replacing capacitors at some point,) it might be worth a lot; but we're talking a long ways off, when CRTs are seen as curious antiques, and 68k Macs are as rare as hens' teeth.

yeah, i'm not sure what time i'll head to the mall...probably sometime around 6-ish. at&t store is closer to where i live, but come on, who wants to go to an at&t store?

Thus, I went to the AT&T store; which is where I'll be at 7am next Friday. Sure, I'd rather be at the Apple store, but ultimately I'd rather have 2 new iPhones.

We've spotted one glitch from the start: the main album page doesn't display the right images and the links to albums don't work.

ok... it takes 184 pin DDR266, PC2100. i have a friend with a 128 stick of 184 pin PC3200 (my memory didn't work). Would her's work? i figure the computer would just clock it down

congrats on the switch! first thing i always do is run Software Update and download any updates you need. there should be a bunch depending on when your machine left the factory. after that you should run Disk Utility and fix all permissions. then i like to setup my preferences and go. maybe import your music from another machine. unless you're really in love with partitioning your HD then go for it but i think you'll find that the standard system setup is capable of keeping your machine very organized. you'll see. enjoy!

I bought my iMac in 2008 and I did not upgraded to Leopard or Snow Leopard. Lion will be released soon. Can I wait until Lion is released and then upgrade to Lion or will I be required to upgrade to Leopard prior to upgrading to Lion:confused?:?
