Thanks for the heads up! I think I'm actually going to Target first . . .I've heard that some targets have started handing out vouchers already. So - been using Mail for some time and today it started doing the wierdest thing. Everytime new mail arrives from the server it will register in my INBOX (with the little number showing new messages) but the instant I click the INBOX, all the new mail disappears. It doesn't go to trash or junk, it just vanishes. I have searched all over for it and can't find it.
Try deleting your mail preference file in your home directory. I.e. the "com.apple.mail.plist" file in your /Users/"Home Directory"/Library/Preferences/ folder. Don't worry the file will replace itself. Deleting it just sets the application's preferences back to default. You might need to change your Mail application settings back to the way you want them and this might not solve your problem. I'd say give it a shot though. Deleting preference files seems to always solve problems I have with my applications. :D Remember the greatest risk is not taking one. If you don't compromise one thing you will always compromise another. I think deleting the preference file is the wise choice.
Edit: BTW you might want to check and see if your "INBOX.mbox" file is in the Users/"Home Directory"/Library/Mail/"POP mail"/ folder. If it isn't then this might be why the Mail program is getting rid of your Mail. If this is the case I'd delete the POP account from the Mail application (accessible from the Mail preferences) and then put it on again. If the "INBOX.mbox" file is still missing then get back to me and I'll give you a few more troubleshooting tips.

I started it at $200, which is a very reasonable price. He chose how much to pay; and its not my fault that you're jealous/envious/whatever you are(?) about how much it ended for.

Interestingly the new Tiger build has a Colorsync profile that removes the pink tint (clean install).

A big problem with the big megapixels is the amount of storage they take on your phone. You cannot adjust the megapixel size down with a phone camera like you can with a point & shoot camera. A 16 megapixel camera in a phone will not give you a better picture than a 5 megapixel camera in a phone. A phone just does not have the room to install a quality sensor.

I'm having a major headache here guys. I'm trying to upgrade a Macbook 1,1 from Tiger to Snow Leopard. I just upgraded the ram so I have all the requirements for SL except for a dvd drive. the Macbook 1,1's super drive is bent or something, it's very difficult to actually get discs in or out of the drive and once they are in they don't even read.
I tried remote install os x, but it didn't show up on the 1,1's boot menu. I'm guessing this utility is only somehow for Macbook airs?
So I tired restoring the SL install DVD I got with my other Macbook (6,1) to a flash drive and it booted, but once I got past the language select I got a message saying that Snow Leopard could not be installed. I don't understand why, my 1,1 has 2 gigs ram, enough hard drive space and an Intel Core Duo.
Why can't I upgrade?

hi recently ive been getting this error message everytime I try and download something from Safari. does anyone know how to solve this problem?? i attached a snapshot of the error message, hope the picture works!

Unfortunately, there's no easy way to fix this - what's needed is a reinstall of Safari, but doing that is easier said than done due to the way Apple sometimes bundles Safari updates along with operating system updates. If you're using Mac OS X 10.3.7, download the Mac OS X Combined Update 10.3.7 (http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/macosxcombinedupdate_10_3_7.html) (warning, it's a 97 MB file) and install it - it includes a Safari update, which MIGHT fix your issue. Otherwise, I'm not sure how to help, since I've lost touch with Mac OS X versions older than 10.3.

A friend told me I can't boot OSX from Raid. So would that mean I cannot install Lion on my HD if it is currently in the optibay where the superdrive used to be?
You don't have any kind of RAID in your computer and your friend is wrong too. OS X should boot fine from the ODD bay, Windows not so well.

I'm sorry to hear that - but at least you get (hopefully) a good price. However, it is possible to replace the internal drive - although that's a tedious task. Your best bets are:
(1) Just buy online and pay full retail but get the system you want.
(2) Buy a 14" iBook, which comes with the 60GB drive (and DVD burner).
(3) Buy the iBook you mentioned, and spend ~$120 or so on an external portable drive like a LaCie 40GB (or spend more on a larger drive).
Best of luck, any way you decide.
