Yes, Windows 8 will have ARM support (http://windows8news.com/2011/01/05/windows-8-arm-press-release-microsoft/).
I don't buy this rumor, though. It's too crazy.
Why is it crazy? A few developers write some lines of code and let Toshiba or whoever fail in the hardware beta testing. I heard HP is trying to "Think Different" these days.

it is very good news that Amazon jumped into the water first. now it places the pressure on Apple. Apple will juice up their service (if it already wasn't) to top what Amazon is offering.
Fingers crossed this happens. If Apple can release a product that syncs your personal data wirelessly and painlessly (ala Android) and pair it with syncing your media wirelessly and painlessly (like this Amazon product) they'll finally have gotten to where they need to be.

Yet more of Don't panic's questions:
you spoke about motivations, does that imply that the "end game" is different between the couple, the wizard and the adventurers? or is it just color?
Yes, their end-game goals are slightly different.
more: how long are the rounds? how large is the map? how long do you envisage this game lasting? is there a built-in clock of any sort?
The rounds are as long as you make it. That's why I require active participation - otherwise they could take forever. There is no built-in clock.
in the original post it said 2 points/turn, 2 turns/round, but in reality it is 1 point/turn? which is forfaited if the villain uses any action in the turn (place monsters/traps, heal, move)?
Every round, the villain gets 2 turns/points. If he moves, he uses one turn. Then he decides to heal, that takes another turn. Then the round is over for him, and when the next round comes, he gets another two turns. If in the previous turn he decides to do nothing, then the next round he will have four turns to play with.
Plutonius' questions:
1) Will it be real time or will it be 2 turns / 24 hours or something in between ?
No, it is two turns. No time limits or any kind of built-in clock.
2) What will our turn orders consist of and do we PM or use the thread (could you please post an example of a couple turns.) ?
The heroes use the thread, the villain PMs the GMs.
Example round:
Turn 1: Heroes discuss amongst themselves and decide to explore the room. They discover a trap that the villain placed and a treasure. They disarm the trap, and grab the treasure (automatic), and because they found a treasure, they level up.
Turn 2: Heroes discuss amongst themselves again, and decide on a door to take. They move to the next room, and meet a level 1 goblin. They fight and easily kill the goblin. The wizard takes one hit because random.org says so.
In the meanwhile, the villain has 3 turns - he has one turn remaining from last round, plus two turns from this round. The villain PMs the GMs saying he wants a lvl 4 gargoyle in that room. The gargoyle costs 3 turns. The villain now has 0 turns, and the gargoyle is placed in the said room.
Round ends.
3) Do we talk to each other through the thread or PMs ?
Everyone talks in the thread. Only the Villain uses PMs.

How do you know this. Are you some type of design tester for intel?
How does he know what? It is well known what is in the Core 2 and Core processors.

I'm on the 3GS > iPhone 5 > iPhone 7 upgrade sequence. I'm glad to be on it. I don't like to be a Beta tester. If there is an unseen design flaw (antennagate), it will give Apple a full year to "hopefully" fix the issue. I plan on using this phone without a case, so I don't want any antenna issues. I'm doubtful the iPhone 5 will have a better antenna. The Verizon iPhone has the same issues as the ATT iPhone. If Apple was going to fix it, they would have fixed it then....
No Apple had to give Verizon customers the same iPhone 4, but the antenna was tweaked for the CDMA. Apple can't just give Verizon users iPhone 4.2 (working antenna).
I think a better antenna will be at the top of Apple's list for the iPhone 5. Also, i completely agree with you, the 3GS > iPhone 5 > iPhone 7 sequence is the best, and i've stuck on with my iPhone 3G so i could upgrade to the iPhone 5 and get into it.
Here's hoping for a bigger screen, 3.7"?

Thanks for alerting me to this. I had no idea that Macrumors took up GBs of my bandwidth cap. :p
Gotcha. I don't have bandwidth caps, so I wouldn't know about that.

I think we will see the upgrade the Tuesday after they have enough supply to meet the demand. These laptops are selling great and they don't want to have to interrupt the supply. I think this is especially true at the stores.
Are they really selling that great??
Is there anyway to know??
I wonder how much people is waiting for the Merom MBP's.
I mean, in general like a couple o guys said here the ones available today are great. But I use Final Cut Pro ALOT, and I'm sure the 64bit will be VERY useful on that. So for me is worth the wait... as for alot of other Final Cut, Logic Pro, Aperture users...
I'm quite curious about those MBP sales...

So you want Apple to be forced by the government to reduce its manufacturing, tell its customers "sorry, no iPad for you" because the competition needs to catch up? How stupid is that?
Sadly, that's what happens in South Korea.
Which is the reason why the world has to put up with Samsung.

You are right, I fold. I know nothing about 19" racks (1.80 meters tall and 150 kg. in weight), and nothing about conditioned server rooms with dual power feeds at all. Flight cases with equipment I also know nothing about. I'm sorry I'm doubting your knowledge and insight.
I'm not trying to win here, or get anyone to fold. It's not my knowledge or insight, but just observation from those people who want to use their Mac Pros in racks for other than server applications.
It has been this way for a long time. Remember Marathon G-Rack?

So Steve is saying there is no database of locations? Thats just an outright lie.
No. Re-read the three sentences he typed. He said that Apple is not tracking anyone. That infers that the database of locations is not being used to track a users location.

This update is not good enough, apple. Do more.
8 megapixel camera with 1080P recording.
64GB option
Dual core processor
Those updates are not good enough for a device that gets an update only once a year.
Not enough.
I am going to buy white iphone 4 for 99 dollars or 49 dollars this summer and skip the iPhone 5 on paying 199 dollars.

I have installed this and am running it now but I do have 1.75 TB of data on my drives to go through, I will update this when the scan is complete.
It all looks nice and simple anyway so far.

Of course, because Apple is making the same mistakes that let Windows get +95% market share in spite of Apple's early lead in PCs.
A "closed" eco-system has no chance against an "open" eco-system.
Mac is still a success nonetheless...
Will be the same for the iPhone. Apple is happy with 2 models on 2 providers in the USA...

Release a new phone and make the people wait for months for the new OS? WTH?
I thought WebOS and H/Palm already had that market cornered.

I was wondering what took them so long to redesign this monstrous beast MacPro lol
It's very powerful and expensive but it was too big... Considering all other Apple Products

They are not setting up for the Paris expo for a long time. There is no chance of this being for Paris, IMO. :)
I don't think so either.
When I first glanced at it I thought it was being "made." Like they were hanging it up to be sure it was corrct. I now see that it is indeed being displayed.

I hope Apple gets Toyota to pull that crap back. Jailbreaking shouldn't be legitimate nor supported in any way.
Why not. It's your stuff.
If I want to mod my TV would you say that is not legitimate.
If I want to modify my thermostat to talk to a computer, is that not legitimate?
Reprogram my roomba. . .
Why do you think people aren't allowed to modify the crap they BOUGHT!

Anyone who needs to quote wikipedia shouldn't be allowed to contribute!
Now thats a FACT!
That seems quite rude. Wikipedia happens to have a wealth of base level knowledge. I understand that one should not cite it when doing in depth research but when looking for general knowledge it is a great source.
Many of my professors have realized this and told us that if we need a different explanation of something to look it up on Wikipedia because it tends to use more common language than out text books. The do not allow citing Wikipedia no matter how well the article is sourced.
Just like any book you look at using for research you must weigh the quality before choosing to use it.
That being said, any college level class in history that covers the Cold War will talk about Alfred Sauvy and his contribution to how we talk about the world during that time period.

it definitely is a strong consideration with a few add'l features for $10 more ... including that it works w/ both iphone and ipod touch, works w/ cases/skins, rotation notches seem firmer, and bluetooth works while off mount ... if you can get over the overall cost, the extra $10 is probably worth it.
i received the TT car kit as a gift ... and enjoying it every day :D
Yeah, the cost is not a huge issue for me as with either car kit, I get a permanent dock that I can pop my phone into and get enhanced gps service, charging, bluetooth speakerphone, and line out to my stereo system. It's pretty good from one unit. Glad yours is working out for you!
